Upon Reflection of 20-12
As 2012 draws to a close, upon reflection what would you say were your highlights or your lows around your personal life, your business, your career, your relationship, your finances etc?
-> Did you find yourself going through difficult times?
-> Were you playing mediocre because you were too afraid to play fabulous?
-> Did you lose your job or made redundant and finding this difficult to cope with?
-> Were you having to ‘cut your coat, according to your size’?
Nonetheless, it is disruptions, and the experiences that make us truly value, and appreciate the beauty of life more. Disruptions make us appreciate ourselves, and the things that we have taken for granted, before the disruptions. It is only when you have experienced losing your job, or experienced financial difficulties that you are able to identify with others, that have had a similar experience.
I have learnt a great deal in 2012 about appreciation, and even go as far as saying that a disruption causes you to ‘STOP’ and appreciate the things that you would never have valued without the disruption.
The experience caused by a disruption can bring about the spiritual dimension of life, our growth, and even the validation of the choices we have made. It is also our experiences that shapes our values and our character.
The journey may seem tiresome, and in cases never ending, though upon reflection, when you look BACK on 2012, you will be able to see how far you have scaled, and acknowledge your accomplishments, despite the disruptions. Then look FORWARD to 2013, and how much more there is, of YOUR life journey to attain.
