TUNE INTO YOUR BODY AND LISTEN TO ITS MESSAGES

POWORDFUL Conversations this week with Dr Vilma Brunhuer (of Vilma’s Wellness), we talked about the affects certain foods can have on our well-being.
My reasoning for having Dr Vilma on the show, was to highlight how very often when we refer to being ‘positive’, we generally associate ‘positivity’ with the mind i.e. focusing on the positive things rather than the negative. Albeit, when it comes to food, some of us tend to throw that ‘caution to the wind’, and crave for the ‘negative’ things rather than the ‘positive’.
We overlook the fact that, mind, body and spirit are ‘one’, and that being or remaining ‘positive’ is also associated to the food we eat in keeping the equilibrium.
-> How many of us continually feeling bloated, can honestly say that we have learned how to tune into our body, to listen to its messages?
-> Could this be part of the reason why you’re feeling frustrated, annoyed and uncomfortable for having over indulged?
-> Do you equate your lethargy to age?
-> Do you know which foods you eat that energies you, and which foods drain you?
-> Are you really tuning into your body and listening to the messages it gives you?
Twenty years ago I was out of tune with my body, and not listening to the messages. It was not until some unsightly rashes appeared on my body, and on my face that I know I had a problem. The problem was no longer invisible!
The signs had been there (such as fatigue), after eating particular foods. I was constantly feeling drained and lifeless. I remained continually irritated for not knowing how to tackle the problem.
It was after an allergy testing, the confirmation came. It was wheat and dairy products which left me feeling lethargic, and right there and then, I was forced to STOP and take ACTION.
Personally, having the knowledge about which foods keeps me alert (porridge without milk of course), and which foods leaves me feeling bloated, and sleepy (such as wheat and diary) has been a great help to me. It is those foods that keep me feeling low, rather than ‘high alert’, that I steer away from, particularly before important presentations or meetings.
‘Our body (like a machine), operates by specific set of instructions or conditions, which equally equate with positive or negative energy.’

By finally learning to tune into my body and listening to the messages, forced me to change how my machine operated. The time had come to give it new instructions and conditions to follow.
